The Importance of Kid's Day Camps

If you're a parent, you want the best for your son or daughter.

And when school's out, there's a tendency to want to let the kid slack off and do whatever it is they want.

In my opinion, that would be a mistake.

You want your son or daughter engaged, you want to give them life experiences and social skills.

But at the same time, you want it to be fun and exciting during the summer.

One way to accomplish this is to send your kid to a day camp.

There are many to choose from, especially in Orange County.

There are sports camps, where they teach kids how to games like basketball better. It's pretty intense but if you're is interested in basketball, they'll eat the opportunity.

Especially if they are able to meet some of their basketball heroes.

There are scholarly or academic day camps. Where your kid continues their learning and applying. It's like summer school on steroids. But the brainer kids like my daughter eat that up too.

There days for people who are artistic or want to perform. Band camps come under this category.

But the key is finding the subject your son or daughter wants to learn more about, or wants to master. It would be anything. Their are day camps for almost any subject or career.

One way is to give your kid some options. Do some research. Have them be a part of the camp selection process.

Sure some of them my feel intimidated at first, and that's why it's probably important to start the conversation earlier in the year and give your son or daughter the opportunity to warm up to the idea.

That way they are engaged and want to learn more and I think you'll find them to be more receptive and more excited when it comes to times to go to day camp.
