Financial literacy for kids is just as important as financial literacy for adults...maybe even more-so. If a child grows up unable to manage his or her finances, they are doomed to a life of struggle. One of the most stress-inducing and joy-suppressing problems in the developed world is a lifelong struggle to get out of debt.

None of us want that for our kids. It's not an easy task for parents, 95% of whom do not have a great record of financial management or financial literacy themselves, to know where to start when it comes to teaching financial literacy to their kids. There is a lack of good, affordable resources at their disposal as well. Especially for young kids.

Schools these days do very little beyond teaching kids and how to add and subtract when it comes to financial literacy. We live in a society where spending more than we make is the norm, and there is often very little at the end of the day to help the poor and needy or contribute to other good causes. College kids are graduating every year who have little to no idea how to take care of their finances...starting life financially illiterate.

Three Cups is a beautiful and inexpensive book based on a true story of how one family taught their son financial literacy. It's written as a story of financial literacy for kids, but the storyline shows parents some easy, practical ways to teach your young kids about money...and it might just make you think about your own relationship with money as well.

It's tough in this fast paced world to take the time to give your children all of the important tools they need to survive the future, but this little book is a quick and easy way to get started teaching kids financial literacy.

Good luck as you teach your children about money and life. With your proper guidance they will grow up to be strong, honest men and women who know how to avoid the debt trap that most of our current generation are going through...and it all starts with financial literacy for kids.
