Is your web host provider ripping you off?

Web hosting has become a commodity, and the only thing separating service providers is the level of service provided. The common features that are universally available are not the selling points... they have no intrinsic value. It's all about service quality.

The most basic expectation for a web host to meet is to ensure your website is always up and running. When a server running Linux is properly configured, it's virtually crash-proof and all that's required to stay up and running 99.9% of the time is to simply not fiddle with the power button on the server.

Web hosts like to charge extra for more email addresses, databases, and bandwidth, etc. The only cost associated with such items is the extra disk space these items will require, and you're already paying for that. That's double-billing, and it's not an acceptable way to do business. It's like buying a car with 4 seats, and then being asked to pay a premium for each passenger you'll actually carry.

Disk Space

Hard drive capacities are going up...and prices are going down. Today you can purchase a 250 GB drive for under $50, which works out to about $0.20 per GB... and that's a one-time expense for a web host. At pennies a GB it's not a challenge for a host to add more disk space.

Bandwidth

Every web hosting service has unmetered data transfer, but they don't typically offer that to their customers. Why should you pay for exceeding an arbitrarily set limit? Your web host provider doesn't have to pay extra if you exceed a "limit", because they don't have one.

Domains

Some successful individuals and company's have a need for a dozen, or more, web sites. Should they pay a hosting fee for each domain? Would you want a hosting provider that allows one, or several domains, or one that can and will allow an unlimited number.

Sub-domains

Sub-domains allow you to create URLs such as photos.yourdomain.com on you main domain. Sub domains get indexed as separate domains and can be used to contain revelant and desired keywords of the web page. Again, you want a web host that allows unlimited sub-domains.

Email

Email accounts are one of those things web hosts like to charge extra for, in spite of the fact that the cost of providing 1 account or 1,000 accounts is exactly the same...nothing. And you want a web host provider to automatically scan your email to block the more than 200,000 of the nastiest viruses, worms and trojans, macro and malware threats. You want, and should have, unlimited email forwarding, autoresponders, and mailing lists.

Conclusion

If your looking for a low-cost web host provider with one unlimited plan please check them out at the link below.

Their philosophy is that if there's no cost associated with providing a particular feature, then there should be no charge. If there is a cost, then the item should be offered at a fair price. This is why they offer only one plan... and they don't try to create a "perception" of value where there is none, there's no bronze, silver, or gold plans with a varying number of POP accounts and databases included, and they don't charge for additional data transfer because they have unmetered data transfer.

What you pay for with them, is great service...something that actually has value.
