Cat insurance for Bengals are important. Since Bengals are hybrid cats, their temperament can be sometimes unpredictable depending on what generation they are. Check for their temperament levels and to be on the safe side, get cat insurance.

The Bengal breed is a human-made hybrid. It is a cross between a domestic cat and an Asian leopard cat or also known as an ALC. The Asian leopard cat is found in southern Asia and is the modern undomesticated cat that is related to the oldest, ancient predecessor of the cat group. The Bengal breed began around the early 1960s in Covina, California. Jean Mill, a breeder brought home a female leopard cat from the store. During the 1960s, people were able to buy leopard cats in the US. Jean had no intentions of starting a new breed but when your cat was looking a little lonely, she bought a domestic male cat in to keep her company. The next thing you know, she had a litter of kittens. Unfortunately, only one had survived, Kin-Kin. Kin-Kin was thought to be sterile, but this was not the case. She mated with her father and produced two more kittens. One had inherited the temperament of the leopard cat, and the other inherited the temperament of the domestic cat. The CFA does not accept the Bengal breed due to it being a hybrid and the temperament of the breed.

Overall, Bengals are very friendly cats and enjoy being playful. They have extremely high energy and likes to have their owner's attention when possible. Bengals are also very intelligent animals and are brave enough to even to go into the water!

Bengals have very muscular bodies in which they still remain a little bit of the structure of the ALC. They have short to medium coats in which the texture is a thick, lush, soft feel upon touch. Bengals are distinguishable from the other breeds because of the coat color appears to have "wild-looking" markings.
