When one tells you the opportunities of making big bucks in the business of Multi-Level Marketing, you are certainly drawn to the idea of starting this business on your own. But beware of the MLM scams! Don't worry! Don't think that MLM business is a fake one. There are surely legitimate MLM opportunities in this business. But there is also a conspicuous presence of scams in it. So it is necessary for you to know how to differentiate between the MLM scams and the effective and reliable business.

MLM or multi-level marketing business whose other name is network marketing business gives you quality opportunities to earn money. Here you are provided with an up line and you create a down line when you are selling exclusive products or services. But the bad thing is that some people have built MLM scams or illegal schemes which have given a bad name to the MLM business.

Let's now discuss about some of the common MLM scams. The pyramid scheme is one of the most common scams and it is present in the market for quite a long period of time. In this scheme, you are assured of being flooded with high profits from the company if you put money in their particular program. But if you observe this scheme, you will find that there is no question of selling! Without any sales you are expected to get money! In this scams like many other in the market, you invest your hard earned money only to lose it!

Ponzi scheme is another common MLM scam. It has resemblance with the pyramid scam, only there is a single difference. In the Ponzi scheme, there is no product. You are promised to get large returns if you invest in the company. With your money, the company pays off the persons who are in the program before.

The schemes are very tempting; even they appear to be legitimate. But there is no guarantee of getting back your investment from these fraud companies (forget about making money from them). So how would you make out the MLM scams?

See if the company prefers drawing new members to sell of products. If there is not a vast amount of products for selling, new members will enhance competition.

Stay away from the company which wishes you to buy a number of products before you have even commenced selling. It is seen that MLM scams need to sell products to you which are back ordered or require selling you the products which will never make an appearance thereafter.

The products (especially nutritional supplements) of MLM scams are much hyped and their ads are too good to believe. So study the claims before you get into business. God bless you.
