Endometriosis is the growth of cells similar to those that form the inside of the uterus (endometrial cells), but in a location outside of the uterus. Endometrial cells are the same cells that are shed each month during menstruation. The cells of endometriosis attach themselves to tissue outside the uterus and are called endometriosis implants. These implants are most commonly found on the ovaries, the Fallopian tubes, outer surfaces of the uterus or intestines, and on the surface lining of the pelvic cavity.
Natural alternatives would have been a gentle non-invasive & viable option, ones that look at the overall persons well-being, from a holistic viewpoint, real viable options that have the time, and skill, to look underneath and past my symptoms to find the true underlying root cause.
Signs and Symptoms of Endometriosis
1-Pain During Menstruation-This can begin several days before the period and continue for several days afterwards. Periods can be very heavy and some women experience bleeding during periods
2-Pain During Intercourse, Bowel Movements, and Urination
3-Indigestion, Bowel Problems and Sickness/Nausea
Natural Treatment For Endometriosis
Providing you have a proper diagnosis, there is no reason why you cannot try a natural treatment for endometriosis. There are various self help measures you can try:-
Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and flaxseeds. Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cabbage and kale can all help with estrogen metabolism. Flaxseed has also been shown to be beneficial for women suffering from estrogen related conditions
Stress has been shown to have a detrimental effect on hormone balance. Reducing stress is therefore thought to be an effective natural treatment for endometriosis as it will help to rebalance hormones and thus reduce the likelihood of endometrial tissue growth. Studies have shown that women with high stress levels are more likely to suffer from endometriosis
Oily fish, or the fatty acids found in them (known as Omega 3) have been shown to be helpful for women with endometriosis
Women with excessive blood flow during the menstrual cycle caused by endometrial implants or adhesion in the abdomen found to have low levels of vitamin A in there bloodstream. Together used with vitamin E will help to relieve menstrual bleeding and keep hormone balance in the body. Beta carotene is another form of vitamin A that also helps to enhance the immune system and protect against growth of endometriosis.
Endometriosis which grows somewhere else other than the endometrium also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle by building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. Besides conventional medical treatment, nutritional supplements also play an important role in treating endometriosis. In this article, we will discuss the relationship between minerals and women with endometriosis.

The participants of the study were given monthly gynecologic examinations and completed pain self-assessments before and during the trial period. During the initial stage of the study, both groups had not shown improvement of their condition but within four weeks, they experienced some improvement with those taking Pycnogenol experiencing slow but yet steady relief, while those taking Gn-RHa experiencing faster alleviation.
One of the best sources of relief from pain caused by endometriosis is medical therapy. To control endometriosis, contraceptives that are high in progestin and low in estrogen are sometimes prescribed. This type of birth control pill reduces or even stops the menstrual period, and has been shown to prevent endometrial tissue outside of the uterine wall from growing. While side effects such as headaches, nausea and depression are mostly mild, they may be more pronounced in some women.
Symptoms of Endometriosis of the Bladder
However, most women with bladder endometriosis complain of pain, which can either be mild or acute, in the pelvic area, especially during their monthly period. Most women only find out that they have this disease five to seven years after its onset because many believe the pains they are feeling are from premenstrual syndrome. A lot of women only begin to consider the seriousness of the situation when they experience other symptoms of the disease.
the early signs of endometriosis is an unusual amount or increase in pain during a woman’s period. Though some women notice this, others have had this problem for a long time and they think it is the way it is supposed to be. The cramping, bloating, and pain will be more severe, and the periods will tend to last longer.
There are some treatments for it, but no cure. Any women of reproductive age may develop this condition, but the exact reason why some get it and some don’t seems to be a mystery. Though it is estimated that only five percent of women (of reproductive age) have endometriosis, the numbers might be much higher. What is more confusing is that the early stages of endometriosis can go unnoticed.
