One of only two continuously operating tent theaters-in-the-round in the United States, the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis brings big-time talent to a relaxed, intimate setting where every seat is within 50 feet of the stage. Just a small sampling of this summer's (2010) lineup of concerts includes: Josh Turner, B.B. King, the Black Crowes, Tony Bennett, the B-52s, and Willie Nelson. The Beach Boys will be back in town this year, too.

The Melody Tent caters to the younger members of the family, as well, with performances of fairy tale musicals like Cinderella, Snow White, and Jack and the Beanstalk. The colorful costumes and light-hearted take on these classics will delight every member of the family.

Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival

Although this Festival presents events throughout most of the year, their three week summer season is the premiere event, offering performances almost every day. Featuring world class ensembles and outstanding young talent, the CCCMF has achieved national recognition and popularity. Focusing on classical and contemporary chamber music, this festival provides a variety of performances that will please even the most discerning fans. Concerts take place in varying venues and include everything from quartets and symphony orchestras, to solo appearances by some of the most recognized and acclaimed musicians in the world.

Cape Cod Jazz Festival

The palatial Wequassett Resort and Golf Club plays host to the annual Cape Cod Jazz Festival, an exciting celebration of the arts. Focusing primarily on performances by accomplished jazz, blues, and Latin musicians, this festival also offers theater and art exhibits that will entertain both young and old.

Running through July and August, various events are scheduled including a Saturday afternoon children's program where kids can sing, dance, and join in the fun. The power of music is appreciated in the romantic setting created by evening performances under the stars. There is also the occasional brunch or extravagant ballroom gala. Naukabout Music Festival

Only in its third year, this festival is new to Cape Cod, but has been very well received and is fast becoming one of the most popular annual events. Taking place at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds, Naukabout features various bands and performers, focusing mainly on folk and acoustic music. The festival was created by a lifestyle clothing company of the same name that considers its line of designs to be a philosophy rather than simply a product. They want their clothing to emphasize memorable events such as spending time with family, having fun, or doing something we love. Besides music, this festival includes vendors that also promote life philosophies, including organic products, natural environments, and resource preservation. All proceeds benefit non-profit organizations, making this event a worthwhile addition to your vacation agenda.
