Membership websites have 2 kinds.
Paid websites and free websites. The two kinds of membership sites have one thing in common. Their memberships are composed of people who have similar needs or share a common interests.
However, you can still buy a domain, have a site and not pay for memberships yet still get to allow who to admit and who not to admit. This is made when the revenue is intended to come from sales to members after they sign up the website. There are network sites that are available for free that one can use. Group sites on MSN and on Yahoo are examples of free membership websites. There is no charge at all for anyone to join and it costs nothing to put up these sites.
Paid administrator or moderators are also not needed from these sites.
On each site, there are rules on how to join and the code of conduct for that particular site. It also hasdiverse topics and subjects. There are a lot of "support" sites for individuals with health problems or concerns and for persons who have suffered the loss of loved ones. Sites for those people who are into crafts like woodworking and quilting are also presented.
There are websites for those who passionate about traveling.
Whatever age group you belong there is a site that is to your liking.
The sites include chat software and a limited amount of space for posting pictures, documents and links per member. If there's one thing these free websites don't have, it is access to lists and specialized information like music lessons.
Paid for membership websites are set up by organizations or people with the aim of making money by giving tough to find data, access to specialized data or lists, or instruction in various fields. Membership sites are owned and operated by people who either own the websites or who are hired by the site owners to monitor and administer them. Unlike in the free membership sites, the topics are more mixed and more specialized in sites with paid membership.
