I have to stay on the topic of weight loss since obesity is such a major problem making it a global epidemic. In the U.S. alone last year obesity accounted for over 34 % of Americans while this year an astounding 70 % of Americans are overweight or have a problem with Weight Loss. It has been reported that between 1980 and 2000 obesity doubled in the United States. One out of every three children born today may become obese at a very young age.
Since I have been a juicer and make my own all natural juice I no longer have a probem with weight gain. It is not just for the nutrients that I juice but it is also about the digestive enzymes I give my body when I make my homemade juice. Homemade juices flush out your system to make you more regular so the food you consume does not stay in your digestive track.
Now I want to talk about the pancreas here for a moment. Your pancreas is responsible for your body producing insulin. Insulin helps your body retain sugar. When your sugar is at an extreme low, you are tired, fatigued, and hungry, you tend to eat more. Juices you buy at the store may be full of fructose and glucose additives that have a high content of chemically produced sugar. For example, a small 300 ml bottle of store bought orange juice may have as much as 33 grams of sugar.
Read the label the next time you purchase juice. Natural sugar is good for your body but beverages that have a high refined sugar content are much harder for your body to process than natural sugar that you would get from an apple, orange or kiwi. Refined sugar is your enemy not natural sugar. What I mean here is chemically processed sugar.
When you eat lots of fruit and vegetables you are giving your body lots of natural sugar to be used as energy. Eating foods that have fat do not necessarily make you fat. Eating the wrong combination and quantity of food is what makes makes your body retain sugar. For example, eating foods with hydrogenated oils, trans fats, and refined sugars makes your body more susceptible to store fat. If you start eating more fat burning foods before you go for a walk or work out you would see a remarkable difference take place in regards to your weight loss.
For example most people believe that the most important meal of the day is supper. To be honest that is the furthest thing from the truth. The most important meal of the day is breakfast and that is the time you should be eating good fat burning foods. Some good fat burning foods are the egg whites of brown eggs, brown rice, avocados, sweet potatoes, sprouted grain breads and butter. Yes butter is a good fat burning food, not margarine or low cal margarine like most people think. Most margarines are made from animal fats and have hydrogenated oils and trans fats present.
Now we know a little about what foods to eat, here is a suggestion on what to start the morning with. I forgot to mention One Minute Quaker Oats (100% Rolled Oats). Zero Sugar or Sodium. As a cereal it is amazing and super healthy for you. Now talking fibre, WOW ! It will make you pretty regular and cleanses out your digestive tract. If you slice a banana on top realize they tend to be high in calories so I suggest only use half of one.
Now about losing weight and the importance of exercise. The best time to expedite weight loss is in the morning after a good breakfast and consuming some good fat burning foods. This will help boost your metabolism so that you burn more calories as you are walking, jogging or working out.
On a positive note start eating 5 or 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones. Your body cannot burn off 1000 calories at one time but 200 or 300 in one sitting it can with ease. Let an apple, orange, honeydew or kiwi be one of your small meals of the day and watch your weight plummet with ease.
