Do you have a goal that you want to accomplish but you keep getting stuck along the way? Many of us set noble goals and soon find them lost by the wayside. Within this article I have complied some tips gained from personal experience and training that will help you turn those lost goals into a reality.

Track Your Progress

If you have something you want to accomplish whether it is losing weight or becoming financially secure, you need to have a system to track your progress. Tracking your progress helps you see that you are moving forward in times of despair and it keeps you motivated. If you are not tracking your progress you may begin to feel like you are running in place.

Find a tracking system that works for you. Some people use a day planner and keep all their goals and progress there. Other people use a personal journal. Another strategy that I have seen people use effectively is to assign only one goal to each particular day of the week, and then only work on that goal that day while tracking all progress in a personal journal.

I believe that tracking your progress with all your goals is a crucial step towards success. I use a unique online goal tracking system called a coaching panel with all of my clients for this reason.

Tell Your Friends

Getting other people involved in your goal is a great way to motivate yourself. We all have a natural desire to be people that do what we say we are going to do. By getting a friend involved you are held accountable by someone. This person will know if you just give up.

You will also have someone to talk to when you accomplish something. Having a friend to report to can be exciting, and you may even motivate your friend to join you!

Take Steps Every Day

Most of the goals that you want to accomplish are probably big enough to need an extended amount of time for completion. Trying to lose 15lbs in one day is a bad idea so you will need an action plan! Chances are with the example goal of losing 15lbs you need to workout a little each day and eat better. For every goal that you want to accomplish you should have an action plan and take small steps every day.

Reward Yourself Often

Studies have been done to see how people react to feedback that is interpreted as positive or negative. People respond best to positive reinforcements and will subconsciously strive to do things that can gain that positive outcome. You need to reward yourself when you accomplish something. If you have done all your workouts in your workout program for one week reward yourself with something that you enjoy.

Don't Stress When You Slip Up

Falling is a part of learning. If you make a mistake or wander off the path, that is okay. You need to just pick yourself up and get back into the game. Spending time and energy beating yourself up about it is only going to take time away from getting back on track and cause unnecessary stress.

These tips are useful but if you still cant seem to get the things you want and move from where you are now to where you want to be, you may want to consider hiring a life coach. Learn more about life coaching and even try it for free by clicking here.
