Glass balls are increasingly used these days in producing different arty crafts for home designing purpose. The glass ball is available in different shapes & sizes. Some of us are well familiar with the glass ball varieties of marble shape & others that are mostly used in Christmas ornaments designing. Thus glass balls are emerging out as the latest craft materials with a wide scale application in jewelry & decorative items.

Glass Ball for Ornaments

Those flashy & attractive colored glass balls can be bleached to make them look colorless & then applied with the desirable color to be used in gorgeous handicrafts including ornaments.

For bleaching process you need to remove the wire & cap from the ornament resulting in loosening of glass balls used in it. Then pour two gallons of water into kitchen sink & add not less than two full caps of liquid bleach into it. Dip each glass ball into the bleached water, so as to enable the water to move inside up to the level where the color is present. Keep the glass balls in this condition for 10-15 mins so as to allow them to absorb the bleached water. Later rinse each of them with tap running water. In this way, the paint will get washed away. Then take a kitchen towel or egg carton & keep the glass balls inverted on them to help them dry out.

Whenever necessary you can paint these colorless glass balls with the help of curved brush or merely dripping the color into their holes will serve the purpose. You can even create more sparkling colors with varying shades of color.

You can even make the glass balls more decorative by filling them with glue or glitter. Materials like dried flower petals, pine needles or confetti can be used to stuff them & look more stunning.

If you want to create a beautiful & sparkling glass ball decoration then remove the wires & caps from these balls & hang them down from a tree or affix every ball with hot glue alternatively to a string of lights.

Amazing Glass Ball Pendants

The small marble glass balls can be put together in a wire to create an amazing jewelry pendant. Curve your wire to help it acquire a twisted "x" shape. If possible apply a small amount of hot glue to hold the glass ball which you can scratch later. Doing so will keep your glass ball firm & prevent it from rolling away. Once it remains stable, draw the wire up & curve them together at the top of a rope & twist them around to give a ring shape. In case you have applied hot glue, you need to scratch it away using a specially designed craft knife.
