Chiropractors can help a lot more people than they do. Many do not go and see one as they do not understand what a chiropractor does, or are afraid they practise hocus pocus rather than a legitimate form of treatment. Here we try and explain the fundamentals of the chiropractic treatment, so you can work out if you can benefit from such treatment.

Doctors of Chiropractic are allied health industry professionals who have a specialty in treating musculoskeletal and nervous system conditions. Through such treatment they can have positive impact on your overall health. They are a corrective treatment as opposed to a masking treatment. This means they alleviate pain by correcting the underlying issue, rather than by concentrating on the symptom. Pain in the back, neck, joints and headaches are common ailments which a chiropractor will be able to improve.

One of the benefits of seeing a chiropractor is that alternative treatments for the same problems may require drugs or worse, surgery. Chiropractic treatment are non-invasive, they generally involve massage and spinal manipulation (otherwise known as chiropractic adjustment).   7. You have noticed that the soles of your shoes wear differently on your left and right foot.

  8. You have noticed that the hem of your skirt or pants hang unevenly.

  9. You have noticed your head is positioned forward rather than directly over your shoulders.

  10. When looking in the mirror, you have noticed one of your shoulders is lower than the other.
