How Do You Fight? The Art of Fighting

Fighting is a combination of different actions that involve body movements. This movements are designed to cause injury to other individual whose engaged with the same activity. Though the main purpose of it is to harm others, it can also be used to defend oneself from the incoming attacks.
How do you fight? Are you thinking of using something. Since acid can kill, you might opt to utilize this corrosive object. Well, fighting has different forms. It can be physical, by using your own body parts. Example of this is Karate, Judo and Taekwondo. It can be psychological, by using words or speech to cause damage. Black mailing and public strikes can be considered. And lastly, it can be weapon-based, by using objects when fighting. Utilizing guns, baseball bat or anything during fight are examples of it; some martial arts like Wushu and Arnis can be also considered. Sometimes, these different forms are combined to deliver effective blows to the opponent.
Today, fighting skills are considered an art. It follows a certain discipline and philosophy depending on the country of origin. Usually these skills are utilized as a defense or counterattack to perpetrating opponents. Most of them are now considered as a sport; and became a part of the Olympics. The following are some of the known martial arts to this date:
Karate. It is a well known form of martial arts. It involves vigorous movement of upper and lower extremities and at the same time considering correct posture and gracefulness. It is said to originate in Okinawa, Japan.
Jiu Jitsu. A martial art of Japanese in origin. It focuses on throws, strikes, locks and grappling.
Hapkido. It is said to originate in Korea that is known for its kicks, punches, locks and throws, and manipulation of joints.
Capoeria. Usually, this martial art is known for self-defense techniques and has originated in Brazil. This style involves kicks and dodging combined with mental exercises.
Muay Thai. A martial art that focuses on movements of lower extremities. It is also associated with kickboxing. The said art has originated from Thailand.
Kendo. It utilizes bamboo swords coupled with protective clothing to engage in sword fighting. This martial art originated in Japan.
Taekwondo. It is one of the popular form of martial arts. It has originated from Korea. This art gives particular emphasis on kicks and its movements do have similarity with Karate.
Kung Fu. A martial art that contains diverse movements from different Chinese styles of fighting. In China, it is much considered to be a discipline and philosophy rather than a way of fighting.
Judo. Also a popular form of martial art which is Japanese in origin. This art focuses throws in a gentle manner, avoiding any striking moves that can harm the opponent.
Fighting is the result of two point of views clashing against each other. Normally, it is looked negatively but more often it can yield positive results; especially if it is done in a appropriate manner. Whether you use a sword, a pen or your bare hands, hurting your foe is not the main objective of the fight. It is to assert your point of view and then generate a solution that both party will respect and agree with.
