One of the most important functions carried out by the HR managers is the selection process. If the deserving person is selected then the company will succeed. They will put in their knowledge and expertise in the development of the company. If the right person is selected they will work hard to achieve their targets and will proactively search for the knowledge and skills that they need. On the other hand, the undeserving person will always be wrong. Their conclusions will always be below the finest, worse than that, they may not be adaptable to training or counseling. They will never be an awful performer but they will be inept of providing the precise performance.

Most managers have limited experience in the recruitment process. They are busy with their work, meetings and other necessary work for the company. In such a case they will just select the 2 or 3 candidates. Now among these candidates the recruitment has to be done. But the chances are that none of them will be worth the job. In such a case it is the Hr managers who will be a blessing in disguise for the managers. Being experienced in this field they will select and short list the most deserving candidate.

The selection process should be designed in such a way that the best from the candidate comes out. The questions should be such which match the desired criteria whether it be, personality thinking style, interests, ability, aptitude and knowledge that will lead them to behave in a way that you want.

Many of the successful businesses and companies apply many techniques and methods to select the best candidate. It is important because it brings out the psychological aptitude of the candidate and it can be easily understood whether that candidate will be a liability or an asset for the company.

Thus the Hr managers role in the development of the company is very high which can be further augmented if the selection of the employees is made in a proper manner!!!
