Mixx is a social bookmarking site that is used to submit and share content with other users. It offers many features including web syndication, blogging and bookmarking. Users can vote on a content by specifiying whether they like or don’t like it. The higher the votes a content has, the higher it will rank on the Mixx front page. Users can also join in the discussion by commenting on a certain content. Mixx Friends allows user to share and invite another person activity on Mixx.
To use Mixx, you must first sign up for an account. After signing up for the account, you should login with your username and password. To edit the profile, click on the update profile button on the left. In the Tell us a bit about yourself field, you should enter a brief biography about your products or services. You don’t have to include the detailed company history in the biography. You just need to provide a brief overview of the company and its services. In the Gender drop down menu, you can select your gender. In the Where were you born field, you can select your birthdate. In the Where do you call home? Field, you can enter the location of your company. If you have a Twitter account, you can sync it by entering your Twitter user name in the What’s your username? field. Finally, you should upload an icon which is used for the profile image. It is important that the photo is really you. Using a real photo will generate trust in the visitors on you. Your face should be in the center of the frame. The maximum size which you can upload to Mixx is 96 x 96 pixels. When you are done, you can click on the Submit button.
After you have updated the profile page, you can start social bookmarking at Mixx. To submit a link, click on the orange color Submit a Link button on top of the page. In the Page URL field, you can enter the URL to the webpage which you want to submit. You should enter the URL in full format including the http://www. part. When you are done, you can click on the Continue button.
Once you click on the Continue button, Mixx will retrieve the META title and META description of the site. Instead of using the generated title and description, you can write your own versions.
It is important that the title and description are written in an interesting way so that it will grab the attention of the users. Under the Add Tags Describing This Story, you can add tags that better describe the content. The tags must be specific and relevant to the content which you are submitting. Each tag should be separated by a comma. You can tag the post with up to 8 keywords. Finally, you can add a comment to tell what you think about the web page. The comment should be a short review of the product or services which you are offering.
