Bibsonomy is a site which offers a combination of services including social bookmarking, publication submission, group discussion and literature exchange. The categories which are available on Bibsonomy include computer, education, folksonomy, film, hardware, internet, java, knowledge, learning, linguistic, linux, mathematics, media, science, software, sport, web, web 2.0, wiki and etc.

Before you can submit to Bibsonomy, you must create an account. The account registration process is brief and straightforward. During the account registration, you will be required to enter the username, password and a valid email address. There is also a field where you can include the URL to your site.

After creating the account, you can update the profile settings. To access the profile settings, you should click on settings on top of the page. If you did not fill in the homepage URL in the registration process, you can enter it in the homepage field under the contact section. In the profession field, you should enter your job position. In the scientific interests field, you can enter a brief description about your company. It is important to update the profile page because it allows other people to be more familiar with you. By filling in your profession, people will respect and regard you as a professional.

To submit a post, click on the Post bookmark on top. In the URL field, you should enter the web address of the site which you want to submit. In the title field, you should enter the title of the content. Your title should not contain the domain name. You should not use word in all caps in the title. The title should be short so that user can easily skimp through it. Though the description is optional, it is necessary to write it. The description should be interesting so that readers will want to read it. The tags are a required field in Bibsonomy. You should separate each tag with comma. The tags should be easy to find by the users. When you are done, you can click on the save button. After the post is submitted, it will be displayed in the Popular page.

In Bibsonomy, you can create a friends network to promote your products or services. To add a friend, you should click on the myBibSonomy. In the myBibSonomy drop down menu, you should select the MyFriends. In the user text box, you can enter the username and click on the add button.

You can use the search feature on Bibsonomy to find friends to follow. You should befriend as many people as you can. By creating a large network of friends, you will be able to easily market the product or services to them since they are already interested in the product. The friends that are added to your network should be relevant to your industry. If they are not relevant to your industry, it will be difficult to market to them because they have no interest in your products. Your post will also be displayed across the profile page of the followers.
