As you know, "Rich Internet Applications are web-based software programs that behave and operate like a desktop application. These may be delivered through a site-specific browser, a browser plug-in, or through other methods; they are especially useful for massively-multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). RIA training can be especially useful in learning the tools that are used for designing and developing these increasingly-necessary additions to Internet Web Sites/

A Short History

Although RIAs have only recently become popular and useful, the concept dates back to the late 1990s when Microsoft began developing what was known as "Remote Scripting;" this was essentially software applications that would run inside an Internet browser, allowing a user's PC to exchange information with a server. The term "Rich Internet Application itself was not coined until 2002 however, when engineers working for Macromedia (now a division of Adobe) began to build on the concept.

Are You Ready?

There are many things today on the Web that involve RIAs that are now taken for granted, such as Google Maps, Flickr, Basecamp and automatic software updates. The bottom line however is that with over 25 billion websites online today, competition for people's attention is getting increasingly intense. This is especially true of commercial websites as the battle for consumer dollars becomes nothing short of brutal.

Is your business ready?

RIA consulting is one option; you can hire experts to come to your place of business and teach your IT staff how to make your website more user-friendly and interactive – and keep visitors coming back again and again.

"Teach a Man To Fish..."

However, an investment in even one RIA course for your IT staff can easily pay for itself. Using Java, Flash, or Ajax, your IT workers can learn how to streamline your website so that users spend more time getting what they need and want and less time searching and/or waiting for it. Above all, Interent websites today must be engaging: they must be useful and often, entertaining as well. Developing RIAs that provide the utility, the convenience and user-friendliness that Web users have come to expect can be a challenge, but the right RIA training will provide Web masters and designers alike with the tools they need to make sure that your visitors turn into clients and customers.

Find out today how an RIA course or RIA consulting can help your business to get ahead in a hyper-competitive, globalized economy.
