Article directory submission is a type of submission that involves submitting your articles to the directories.

When writing a title for the submission, make sure it is unique. If it is not unique, the directory editor will reject the submission. The editor will inform you that title is already used by another article in the directory so it cannot be used in your article. After you make the necessary changes, you can resubmit the article. After resubmitting it, you will have to wait for some time for it to get approved.

The title of the article must be in lowercase except the first letter of the word. The first letter of each word in the title should in upper case. The title must not be presented in all caps. Common words such as "a", "to" and etc should not be capitalized. If you capitalize the word in the title, it seems as if you are trying to promote something. Editors will attempt to remove every promotional word in the title. Quotes is not recommended for use in the title. Examples of quotes which cannot be included in the title are quotes, apostrophes, double dashes and etc. You cannot end the title with three dots in a row. The title should not be ended with a period. It is all right to use exclamation marks in the title. However, the exclamation mark should not be repeated multiple times. Using repetitive exclamation mark will cause the editor to decline your article. Most directories do not allow you to include HTML tags in the title. Your title must be presented in plain text. The author name cannot be included in the title.

The website URL is also not allowed in the title. If you are writing an article about prescription drug, make sure you don’t mention it in the title. The title should not be too long. It should briefly summarize the content of the article. If it is too long, it will be rejected by the editor. The title must have at least two words. Most article directories do not accept one word for the article title. The title of the article must not use slang terms or profanity otherwise it will not be accepted into the article directory.

Every article must have a title. If the article does not have a title, the editor will ask you to add a title before publishing it on the site. The title must not contain words that deliver promises to the customers. The title should be rich in keyword. However, you cannot use too much keywords in the title. It is recommended that you use 3 – 4 keywords in the title. Example of a lousy title is "Rose gardening". Example of a good title is "Ten Ways to Improve Your Rose Gardening Experience".

If you don’t have time to perform the article submission, you can hire a SEO company. The SEO company will submit your articles to the directories so that you can save a lot of time.
