Unusual house cleaning solutions are always a welcome addition for DIY house cleaners and professionals alike. The following are three of the best, selected from a pool of literally thousands of weird and wonderful deep cleaning remedies. I mean, Peanut butter in hair to remove gum? Seriously?

Unusual Solution #1 - The alternative benefits of denture cream. That's right, denture cream. If you have stains in your toilets, bathroom or kitchen sinks or other porcelain or ceramic surfaces, denture cream is certainly worth a try. Just apply it to the stains and leave overnight without rinsing or flushing. The cream will attach to the stains and a single wipe in the morning should remove any discolouration that was there previously. Other weird deep cleaning and DIY techniques include: haemorrhoid treatment for under-eye wrinkles and fresh tattoos, toothpaste on facial spots. Get down to your local Boots and go mad.

Unusual Solution #2 - Knit-it-yourself! This assumes that you know how to knit, which you may not. Considering that we are all trying to be green and do our bit for the environment, one way to make an impact is by knitting your own cleaning cloths. Instead of using disposable kitchen or loo roll to clean up household mess, knitted cloths represent a more absorbent fabric that is reusable and far more environmentally friendly than disposable products. You could also try knitting your own home-made loo roll but the mess will far outweigh any environmental benefits. If you succeed, it would certainly be number one on our next unusual deep cleaning solutions blog.

Unusual Solution #3 - Children's artwork on furniture, clothes, walls and carpets; basically anywhere except on paper where it is supposed to be. The secret here is a weird one indeed. You don't need any fancy expensive cleaning products. What you do need is a can of hairspray. That's right, hairspray. I don't have the scientific background to explain how this works and, quite frankly, I'm not sure I would even if I did... Try it out and you'll see that there is something very magical about the hairspray cleaning process, like the disappearing ink marker pens but in reverse.

Because this one was just too weird to leave out, this exceptional cleaning solution, or cleaning benefit in any case, as there doesn't seem to be any real house cleaning solution involved, was too good to pass up. This is verbatim from a submit-your-cleaning-secrets type site. Weird...

"I have to say that I find housework a great way of calming me down whenever I have impure thought about members of the opposite sex. It's great to clean the house as a way of filling in the time when playing hard to get."
