Niihau, on the other hand, is a private island owned by 300 Hawaiians and only those who receive a personal invitation, or who take a helicopter tour, are allowed to visit the island. As such there are no restaurants, hotels, or roads so visitors must be prepared to "rough it" when visiting there.

Hawaii is best known for its Polynesian culture as well as the warm and welcoming nature of the people. Along with unique food choices, such as macadamia pancakes, pigs roasted in pits, and poi, which is a native staple to the Hawaiian people, just by experiencing the ambiance one will walk away with a new appreciation of the culture, the people, and the opportunity to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
