Article Marketing
This is often called the most traditional Internet marketing method. Basically it entails writing informative articles for article directories on the Internet and providing backlinks to the product website of the author. This is a targeted marketing method because people who read the article are those who are interested in the product. If they click on the links, they constitute targeted traffic, which has a greater propensity of buying from the website.
Blogging
Blogging is another necessary method that you should use as an Internet marketer. When you blog, you are getting closer to your targeted traffic and are giving them an avenue to ask you questions and seek answers. As a result, people are finding you more credible and more knowledgeable about your methods and they want to do business with you. You can link your blog to your product website. Since your blog will have good rankings on the search engines because of the constant updates it will get, it will also be a good way to pump up the prospects of your website.
Lead Generation
Lead generation is something every Internet marketer worth his or her salt has dabbled with since the time this concept has gained hold. This is the name given to a set of tactics that Internet marketers use in order to create a list of people interested in their business. They can do that through their articles or blog posts, or they can do that through social networking, or through sharing links with other people or even through offering free gifts such as eBooks and newsletter subscriptions. The idea is to build a list of leads that they can tap on. In Internet marketing parlance, success lies in numbers, which in this case refers to the number of leads a business can get. More the leads, greater is the scope of business.
Social Networking
There are many social networking websites such as Digg, Hubpages, Squidoo, etc. which allow Internet marketers to submit their content as well as promote the links of their websites. Not just that, these also allow readers to submit their comments about the content. Better approaches are found on social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, which allow marketers to form their own niche communities where they can speak about their businesses.
Using Autoresponders
This is not a complete method in itself, but it is something that Internet marketers use to interest the people who have opted in to receive their services. Autoresponders are simple software applications that send automated messages to people who take particular actions, such as signing in to their websites, ordering a free eBook and so on. Autoresponders help people know that Internet marketers are there for them and that helps them become more confident about the website.
