Have you considered your summer vacation yet? The time to start planning is now, since winter is almost over and most of the airlines have already negotiated their contracts with consolidators and announced fare sales. A popular spot to visit during the warm months is Budapest. This is the Hungary's largest city as well as its capital. Located on the banks of the Danube, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. With UNESCO declared World Heritage Sites such as the Castle Hill and Andrassy Avenue to see, Budapest is a gem to behold!
Stop by the Hungarian Parliament building and take a tour. This Neo-Gothic structure happens to be the largest building in Hungary and the second largest parliament in Europe. During your tour of this magnificent building you will see many statues, decorations made from over 88 lbs of gold, paintings, and beautiful stained glass. You can also see the Hungarian Coronation Regalia which includes a Renaissance sword, the Holy Crown, an orb and a scepter.
One of the most visited places in this capital city is Heroes' Square. The square is located at the end of Andrassy Avenue across from the City Park, with the Museum of Fine Arts on its left and the Hall of Art on its right. The monument was built in 1896 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the arrival of Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin.
If you need some downtime during your trip, relax in one of the many medicinal baths of Budapest. The Rudas Baths were built in 1550 and are located conveniently between the River Danube and Gellert Hill. There are also the Gellert Baths which are thermal baths containing water from the hot springs of Gellert Hill, and the Szechenyi Bath located in City Park right across from the Heroes' Square.
And of course, no trip to Budapest is complete without taking a cruise of the River Danube. Arrange a boat tour or a dinner cruise and enjoy the spectacular sights the city has to offer.
Book your flight to Budapest today and save big.
