The vast majority of people have developed, over the years, the habit of eating three hefty meals a day. They eat a big breakfast, a very big lunch, and a huge dinner.

That is not very good at all if you wish to lose weight. If you stick to this traditional way of eating your meals, you are going to have a very difficult time losing weight.

The following four steps can lead you into a better position to shed excess weight more easily.

Step 1: Be aware of the proven fact that you can reduce excess weight more easily if you eat four, five or even six small meals a day.

This is better than conforming blindly to the traditional practice of eating three giant meals a day.

This is so because any time you eat food, your body marshals the necessary bodily resources required to digest the food and extract essential nutrients from it.

Every time you eat, this happens. So if you eat several tiny meals a day, your metabolism is boosted and this helps to burn off bodily fat quicker.

Step 2: Once you have decided to eat, say, five small meals a day, your next step is to make a plan and stick to it. You can plan on a daily or weekly basis what you are going to eat, and what times you will eat. If you have decided to eat, say, five times (SMALL meals, mind you), do not sneak in one, two or more extra meals just because you feel like it. Please stick to the plan.

Step 3: In planning what and when to eat, you should have one over-riding factor. That is, concentrate your meals on healthy foods. Okay, it does not hurt if you, occasionally, indulge in some junk food as long as you do not binge on it. Eating healthy food regularly will keep you healthier and makes it easier for you to slim.

Step 4: The final step is that you should decide to drink more water every day. In between your four or five small daily meals, drink some water. This will fill your belly and make you feel less hungry.
