Trade show exhibits are designed to attract visitors immediately, hold their attention, and be remembered after the event. They are created in order to resonate with the audience and produce a great result. Yet despite these great design features, only a few trade show displays provide something that visitors can connect with after the event itself is over. Small changes to your trade show exhibits can mean large boosts in the amount of business you see after an event.
The Advantage Of Giving Something Away At Your Trade Show Exhibits
It is human nature to remember someone if they give a gift. Kindness and generosity are remembered in interpersonal relations, and the exact same principle applies at trade show displays as well. If your booth is giving away something, people will remember it. The key to having the best follow-through is determining what you should be giving away.
Consumables To Keep Hungry Visitors Happy
One of the most loved items to give away at trade show exhibits is something edible. Whether it is candy, popcorn, or something else entirely, people love to eat! They become especially hungry at events where they will be walking for long periods of time without much of a break. Attendees are very happy to fill their empty stomach, and they will often stay around your booth while they are eating. Your staff can then talk to them and explain your products while the visitor's attention is relatively undivided.
Useful Items Make Trade Show Displays Memorable
The other option for a giveaway is to provide some kind of item that will be useful or valuable in some way after the visitor leaves the event. There are many great examples of this kind of gift, from a simple and inexpensive pen branded with your company name and logo to a custom-made metallic keychain featuring a small-scale model of your new product. The options are virtually unlimited.
The advantage of a tangible item rather than a consumable one is that your visitors can keep using it months or years into the future. There are stories of repeat visitors coming back to the same booth the next year and showing staff a pen or keychain that had been picked up at last year's event. The item was so useful that they kept it and continued using it, thinking of the company every time.
This effect makes tangible items particularly well suited to a company that manufactures large or expensive goods, or products that may appeal to a special market. These companies may have a lower buying rate on the spot, but if they distribute something like a keychain or a pen, then when a visitor needs the service that the company can provide, he or she will know exactly who to contact.
