Water. We tend to take it for granted. Most times, the first thing we think of when we get thirsty is to go grab a glass of water We do this many times a day, as a reflex action. You feel thirsty, you go grab yourself a glass of water. Simple.
What most overweight people do not know is the fact that they can use water, in a planned way, to help them lose weight quickly. If you are overweight, and want to shed weight, then read below why water can be so important for inclusion in any weight-loss program you come up with.
First, water can help you lose weight fast if you deliberately include it in your mealtime procedure. Okay, we all usually drink some water when we consume a meal. The problem, however, lies in the proportion of food we eat, relative to the amount of water we drink.
The average person eats a huge amount of food, then drinks a tiny amount of water. That is not good at all if you are trying to lose weight. The opposite should hold true. What you need to do is to eat a small amount of food, then top it up with two or more glasses of water.
Both the food and the water you have consumed fill up the same stomach cavity. If you fill the cavity with food only, you risk piling on excess pounds in weight. Drinking water in this planned way can help you lose weight faster because it makes you feel ‘full’ quicker, so you eat less food.
Secondly, water, specifically cold water, can help you lose weight when you make it a point to drink about eight glasses of it every day.
The average human body temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Every time you drink a glass of COLD water (average temperature 40 degrees Fahrenheit or less), your body’s mechanism quickly moves to restore the body temperature back to the normal 98.6 degrees.
The body burns up calories during this temperature-restoration process. It is estimated that if you drink eight glasses of cold water a day, your body will burn up about sixty calories in the said restoration process. This means your body loses nearly 500 calories a week, simply because you chose to drink a few more glasses of cold water.
It would make sense, therefore, if you do include the consumption of water, in the manner explained above, as part of your weight-loss program.
In addition, you need to buy and use slimming products (such as diet pills, tablets, capsules or teas) that are proven to be effective. Look for those that come highly-recommended, have been around for a long time, and have great user feedback.
