So how can you get your hands on a wholesale diamond ring to save money? I'm going to give you five quick tips.

The first thing you might want to do is buy online.

Why?

Well, the main reason is because it's cheaper; think about it. If you go to your local jewelry store, well the guy has to pay for the real estate, the taxes, and also the advertisement.

Well, online these websites also have to pay for advertisement, but it's cheaper. So you're going to pay less money if you buy online, and the second thing is you've got more choices.

If you go to a local jewelry store, there's basically what's there.

Now, the second tip to saving money is you could buy a ring at an auction website, or go to the pawn shop, or use one of your relative's old rings and simply change the diamond itself or change the ring, what we call the setting. It's a good idea if you want to save money.

The third point is make sure you don't get screwed up, because you see, if you go on the internet and you put in wholesale diamond ring, now let's say you see a $2,000 diamond ring which is now on special for $700. How do you make sure that you don't get screwed up?

Well, the first thing you can do is check with the BBB - the Better Business Bureau. If they approve the website or the company, then it's a little bit more safe.

The second thing you can do is to only deal with an established, known, credible company. So most of the most popular jewelers also have an online store, so that's a good thing you can do.

Now the fourth thing you can do is make sure that you're knowledgeable. So for example, you're hesitating between two diamond rings; one of them is $4,000 and the other is $600. They both look good, but how can one be $4000 and the other one be $600? In a nutshell, there are four things that will determine the value of a diamond; they are what you call the four C's, which is my last tip for you.

I'm going to give you, in a summary, what are the four C's.

They are the cut, the clarity, the color, and the carat.

The cut simply means that the better the diamond is cut the more sparkle it will have. If you have questions about that just ask me and I'll do a specific podcast/article on this topic.

The other one is the clarity. The clarity basically means that the less imperfections the diamond has, the more value it has.

The third C is the color. The more white it is, the more value it has; the more yellow it is, the less value it has. By the way, do not buy a diamond that has been treated. They will use some kind of gimmick like irradiation to make the diamond look a certain way - don't do that because it makes it so the diamond has less value.

The fourth thing is the carat; it's basically means the weight of the diamond. Now, you want to make sure that you don't get scammed with the "carat scam".

What's that?

Good question!

Let's say you're looking at a ring, something like a 3 carats ring and you go oh, a diamond of 3 carats?

That's really, really good!

But in fact, they have aggregated the weight of the diamond, the other small precious stones on the ring and the setting of the ring, meaning the ring itself.

So the weight is not only for the diamond, it's for the whole ring. So make sure that if you want to know the real carat of a diamond ring it's only the diamond, not the setting of the ring also.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions just ask me.
