The Spanish Costa Calida (warm coast) is located in South Spain. The name is justified, because this region in Murcia has both warm summers and winters. The Costa Calida borders on the Mediterranean Sea, the Costa Blanca in the North and the Costa de Almeria in the South.
The area is well known and loved by the amount of nature that has remained protected over the years, despite its popularity with Spanish and British tourists. It is not highly populated, so you get the feeling that you really have space for a break and enjoy a well deserved holiday or a retirement.
This Costa has some very important ports that are well worth a visit. Cartagena is a place where you can enjoy the attractions during your holiday. Thus, a visit to the Old Cathedral and the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia are very worthwhile for people who love art and culture. You will also find the Roman Theatre and the eleventh-century chateau of the Rebirth visits. Besides, several monuments and museums in this city also has some very large shopping centers where you can shop for little money.
If you love nature, this is the right choice. A holiday destination that guarantees a vacation full of beauty. The majority of this Spanish Coast has not suffered tourism, leaving ample nature to find. Half of the beach is made of rugged terrain with a wild sea, while the other half is completely different again with a calm water, beautiful palm trees and sand dunes. Large part of Costa Calida's nature is under protection, which makes it even easier for you to enjoy your stay.
The Murcia Coastline has more great destinations. Did you know the town of Aguilas? You can not only enjoy the splendor of the old buildings in the shopping area, but you will also find enough activities and especially sports.
Next to it is in this town on the Costa Calida is also the Tower of Cope, the Castle of San Juan de Las Aguilas and the railway. You can also visit Fraile island, with the remainders of ruins from the Roman period.
All in all, the Costa Calida is perhaps less crowded with tourists than other classified Costas, but you can relax during your vacation. Especially nature lovers come here and enjoy themselves. The Costa Calida brings you nature and active holidays for the whole family!
