When it comes to men and cars, sometimes women can feel a bit out of their depth! One thing we can say for certain is that men like to drive nice cars, and they like to drive them very fast. To do this with no speed restrictions on one of Britain’s great race tracks provides an exhilarating and unique experience, making a driving day a near perfect gift.

For men however, not just any car will do, or any colour for that matter. That’s right, men are not satisfied with driving just any Aston Martin around a track, but to get that real James Bond experience, silver is a highly demanded colour!

To make sure your driving day meets the exacting requirement of the man in your life, here we give you an overview of the main considerations and the most common questions we encounter from people booking driving experience days.

Firstly if your loved one already drives a Porsche or BMW, it is probably not the best idea to purchase a Driving Day which includes these cars. Although any speed is allowed on the tracks, to get that real thrill, something unfamiliar and more powerful then their everyday car is a prerequisite. Many experiences offer the choice to drive a variety of Super Cars including an Aston Martin, Ferrari 360, Audi R8, and Lamborghini. So if you are not sure about your partner/family member’s particular preference, a multi package is the perfect choice.

Car colour: whilst it is sometimes possible to identify if a particular race track has a car in a specific colour, it is unfortunately impossible to guarantee that it will be available on your racing day. The cars are pushed to their limits every day, and as your driving day voucher lasts for up to 9 months we can only promise to provide the make and model.

As for the experience itself, safety is paramount despite the lack of any speed restriction. All car experiences include an instructor to guide your loved one safely through each bend preventing anyone getting too excited with the accelerator! Likewise the fantastic Junior Driving days have an instructor and a car with dual controls making them a great first driving experience for any young loved one.

Your loved one will most likely believe themselves to be a contender for the next Formula 1 Season and so will want the experience caught on camera so they can show the footage to friends back at home. With spectators welcome it is possible for you to capture the whole experience so they can re-live each lap once it’s over. Many tracks have professional photographers available who will be able to provide you with stills or video too. If this is important, then check availability before you book.

Although some whole day driving experiences are available, the vast majority last around two hours, depending on whether one or two cars are being driven. Many locations offer refreshments and have lunch facilities so again if this is a ‘must’ then please enquire prior to booking.
