Oahu is the most developed island in the Hawaiian chain of islands. It is the third largest island and highly populated. From a very long time Oahu is known as "The Gathering Place". One should also have a look at the ancient temples of the Hawaiian culture; this would give one an idea of the Hawaiian history.

For surfing one should head to the North Shore, more specifically the town of Haleiwa. It is a very funky town filled with colorful surf shops, art galleries, food joints serving Hawaiian delicacies etc. The surfing season is during the winter when North Shore becomes the hub of all surfers. One can also go for an underwater tour in a submarine to experience the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean rich with marine life and beautiful corals.
