The Whole Home DVR is a great idea, your article is wonderful as well. I guess after reading your article I can see why it wasn't that big of a deal for Directv to build fast forward and reverse into the software for the remote receivers. I hadn't thought about watching something while you were going to go sleep, guess you wouldn't need to skip through commercials if you were sleeping. Working at DISH network I try to keep up on all the tech coming out from all the providers, I love seeing the new technology, like the Sling Adapter from DISH, which allows you to watch live TV and recorded DVR's anywhere on your mobile device and laptops, and you have full functionality out of it. Comcast will even have a nifty thing coming out later this year that will unshackle you from your TV within your own house, not very mobile. But both are unshackling from the TV. Which Directv still seems to want to keep everyone shackled to.
