Historic Vienna is Austria's largest city with a population in 2009 of over 1.7 million. It is consistently rated as one of the world's most livable cities which means for tourists that safety, culture, cleanliness, recreation, public transport and health care are all highly rated.

Some of the most visited include Deutschordenskirche or The Church of the Teutonic Order, Karlskirche or St. Charles's Church, Peterskirche or St. Peter's Church, St. Stephen's Cathedral and Ruprechtskirche which is considered to be the oldest church in Vienna with roots going back to 796.

Wiener Riesenrad Ferris Wheel As featured in the 1987 James Bond Film, The Living Daylights, the Wiener Riesenrad or Viennese giant wheel is a 65 metre / 212 foot high Ferris wheel that historically dates back to 1897, making it one of the oldest Ferris wheel's in the world. It is also the only Ferris wheel in Vienna.

  5. Hundertwasserhaus Apartment Building Vienna is also noted for it's examples in architecture, of all kinds. The 1980's era Hundertwasserhaus Apartment Building designed by Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser presents an interesting interpretation of architecture from this era. Featuring such quirks as uneven floors and a mish-mash of just about every architectural style, it truly has to be seen to be believed.
