So you need your 24 credits in Pennsylvania to keep your license but can’t find the right place to get them? With people cutting down from two cars to one, or maybe taking some extra time to pay their premiums, isn’t getting any easier to pay for these classes either.
Internet classes can cost up to $50 for a class, sometimes more. And let’s not forget just how boring they are when you have to sit in front of your computer for 5 hours.Agents told us they prefer the face-to-face classes so they actually "learn" something. But these can be costly and are very time consuming. Some can cost up to $200!
That’s why at First General Services of Western PA, a disaster restoration contractor, we offer FREE continuing education classes for all insurance agents in our service area for free in your OWN office. That’s correct, we come in for FREE and teach your CE credits inside your very own office when it is convenient for you and your staff.
Why do we do it? Well, it’s a great way for us to let you know exactly how we handle claims for your clients, and how you can better serve them during the claim process. How long should a basement dryout take?Yep, We cover that (the short answer is 3-5 days). How do you get rid of mold? How do you repair Hail damage? What work is done for Fire Restoration? All these topics are covered in the three classes that we teach.
Currently we offer 2 classes with one pending:
1.Mold Claims: What you Need to Know #116071 – This is our most popular. We often teach it early in the morning, over lunch, or towards the end of the day.
2.Understanding Homeowners’ Claims #115624 – Our 4 Credit Class should be taken with at least 4 agents on hand.
We have a two credit class pending and are looking to add a few more that cover specific types of homeowners claims (since that is the work we do!) for you to become informed on.
We have done the classes for State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, Independent, Donegal, Progressive, Erie Insurance, Farmer’s and many other types of Insurance Carriers Agents. The feedback we receive on these classes is overwhelmingly positive. Agents don’t believe we teach the class in your office for free but we do and we enjoy it.
Many agents have many questions about the claims process and wonder how their clients are taken care of once they file a claim.Covering how much items cost to restore/replace is one of the more popular parts of the classes.Often your clients will ask the question "How much should my water loss cost?" We have line by line pricing and you’ll be able to let them know when they get an estimate that is ok of order.
So next time you think getting your Continuing Education credits is an insurmountable task, remember that First General Services of Western PA will come to your office and teach the class to you and your staff for free.Just give First General Services of Western PA a call at 1-800-553-8426 and ask for Dan.!
