Herb Garden Kits

If you have the desire to have an herb garden but you really haven’t taken the time to learn anything about it. Have no fear. Go to your local nursery and look over different herb garden kits available. Pick an herb that interests you and take it home. All you do is read the short instructions and enjoy. It is really that simple. Really. You don’t need to get anything else. A good kit will have it all. It is kind of like Prego "it’s in there". In fact, if you get enough kits, you can make your own Prego.

These kits will answer many questions for you. You need to know what kind of soil to use-it’s in there. You need to know exactly how to plant the seed-it’s in there. You need to know when and how much to water your herb-it’s in there. These kits will especially answer anything about the herb that you have selected. Indoor herb gardens are the least demanding of all gardens. And using a kit is the easiest gateway to herb gardening. No green thumb required.

Herb garden kits cover a large variety of herbs and can be categorized in many ways. For me, the categories are in the way that I would tend to use the herb. The categories are: culinary, medicinal, aromatic, and ornamental. Of course, marketing may have a different answer; but these are generally accepted categories among herb gardeners. All the kits will have seeds and instructions to insure that you succeed with your plant. They will provide a pot or a planter and something that resembles a type of soil. Herb seeds can always use help in getting started and attaching it’s roots. That is why some herb kits will supply a dome. The dome helps provide consistent temperature and humidity during this stage. Also, most herb kits are small and compact. They are great for small places and apartments. Some herb kits will provide recipes or other directions on ways to use the herb selected. You can also go online and subscribe to newsletters that will show you the ways to use the herb that you are growing. Just look around and you will find the kit that you want.

Now that you are well on your way to becoming a full fledged indoor herb gardener; it is time to start reaping the rewards of what you have sown. First of all, these herbs are portable. You can literally keep them at your fingertips. If you are cooking, you can lean over and harvest a little for your meal. You do not have to outside and weather a potential storm to gather your bounty. The same convenience is true if you have a project where you want to dry out or freeze some herbs for future use. Also, you do not have to worry about nature. Winterizing is not an issue as the plants are indoors. The same is true for too much rain damaging your plant.

The herb kit has gotten your foot in the door to herb gardening. The herb kit removed a lot of the difficulties, but it is you who gained the knowledge and remained consistent and prevailed. Your sense of accomplishment is justified. Although you are a ways from being an expert, you have gotten to the point where herbs can benefit your life. Now you can continue your journey to the next level.

Enjoy your Journey
