Most weight loss diet programs are going to recommend drinking at least eight to ten glasses of water a day.

That sounds like a lot of water, but most people that are trying to lose weight do not understand how very important water is in aiding weight loss.

And if you are worried about drinking that much water and how often you are going to have to run to

the bathroom, there are some facts that might surprise you.

You see, your body is basically composed of roughly seventy five percent water, so it only makes sense

that you need to drink plenty of water to keep your body running efficiently. So, if you become

dehydrated for any length of time, major disruptions are going to occur in your metabolic process,

making things even more difficult for you to lose weight.

By drinking extra water, the old stored water in your body will be expelled, and for awhile, you will notice that you are running to the restroom more often. But once the fresh water has replaced the stored water, your trips to the bathroom will become normal again.

By drinking the extra water, you are ensuring that your kidneys are performing optimally,

allowing your liver to do what it is best at, metabolizing fat. If your kidneys are not replenished with fresh water, your liver takes over some of its functions, limiting the amount of fat metabolizing it can perform.

You will find that during your weight loss diet programs you will be drinking plenty of water. This means

drinking at least half your body weight in ounces each and every day. So, if you weigh two hundred pounds,

you will need to drink at least 100 ounces of water a day.

Sounds like a lot right. Well if you happen to exercise at all during the day, you should drink at least another eight ounces after you have exercised. Also, by drinking an eight ounce glass of water fifteen minutes or so before a meal, you will be less likely to overeat. Water is a natural appetite suppressant and by drinking the water before a meal, you are giving yourself a fighting chance of keeping your meal proportions in check.

And drinking the right kind of water can make a big difference as well. Tap water is full of heavy metals and chlorine, which has its own dangerous side affects such as an incredibly high risk of increasing your chances of getting cancer. If you drink water from your tap, install a quality water filter. I would try to stay away from bottled water as well. It might state that its natural spring water or whatever, but how do you know for sure.

By drinking plenty of water throughout the day, you are keeping your metabolism running at peak performance, and helping your liver do what it does best, metabolizing fat.

Weight loss diet programs that stress the importance of water will help you to burn fat and give you a clear path to losing weight, now and in the long term.
