Many businesses experience problems with their telephone lines. Often, this is due to cabling that has been misused and neglected over many years of contractors performing minor jobs here and there without maintaining the structure of the original installation. There is of course a big chance that it may be due to a fault on the network side of the connection, but there are many instances of faults arising from suspect internal cabling.

So many customers report faults directly to their service provider and are then disappointed to find out that the cause of their disruption is due to on site cabling faults. There can be a whole host of reasons as to exactly what is leading to the core problem and to properly assess and determine the fault resolution it is best to get a licensed telephone technician to service your cabling.

It may be easily fixed, but in many cases the cabling can be in such poor condition that it may be necessary to consider an overhaul of the existing installation. A typical solution to this issue is to install a structured cabling system in place of the old configuration.

The advantages of such a system are substantial in this day and age, as technology is driving towards converged communications. Both data and telephone services are able to operate in a seamless manner by centralizing the cabling into one place. The usual means by which this is done is to run CAT5 or CAT6 cabling to each socket, then to terminate the cabling back to a patch panel inside of a data rack or cabinet.

This method is known as "structured cabling" and is becoming an essential part of how a business handles it ever growing technology needs. When you are installing a phone system, server, PC, printer or other network based device, it makes the migration process an easy affair. You will eliminate the need for third party companies to attend your office and perform the cabling because you can simply do it yourself.
