If you, like many couples around the world at this very moment, are trying to get pregnant but are disappointed every month to find you are unsuccessful once again, one way to greatly improve your chances of conceiving is knowing what foods to eat and what to avoid.
There is no need to wait until a positive pregnancy test in order for you to have a reason the change to a healthy diet. Now is as good a time as any to adjust your eating habits to not only improve your health but to also increase your chances of getting pregnant, and bringing to term a healthy baby.
Be vary of medications you are taking. Some medications that you take regularly, without a second thought, are safe for you. Folic acid should be part of every woman's diet if they are trying for a baby. As well as supplements the folic acid should be part of a woman daily diet. The best food sources for folic acid are: wholegrain and wheat cereals, spinach, white rice, lentils, spaghetti, strawberries and orange juice.
Vitamins and supplements are well and good, but are no substitute for a healthy balanced diet. The majority of your vitamin intake should come from fresh produce.
Vitamin A: Eggs, sweet potato, carrots, spinach.
Vitamin D: Salmon, tuna, milk, orange juice, eggs
Vitamin E: Sunflower oil, almonds, hazelnuts, peanut butter.
These above foods should be an important part of a would-be-mothers diet.
Top of the list of things to avoid is undoubtedly smoking. If you have not done so, stop smoking and quit alcohol and recreational drugs. Substance abuse while trying to get pregnant greatly reduces your chances of conceiving.
