All of us are very busy with our life. We have job, children, household work, shopping, travel and many important things to accomplish. Many times we receive certain opportunities but due to lack of time we don’t go for it and say, "I am very busy, I don’t have time, I’ll see it later."
Are you really busy?
Let’s give you a scenario. Imagine that you are about to leave your home for a meeting and your spouse asks to do some grocery shopping for home. What’s your answer- "I don’t have time". After that you’ll leave home. Let’s give the same scenario in a different way. Imagine that you are about to leave your home for a meeting and suddenly you got an urge to go to washroom. Now what will you do, go out for meeting or go to washroom first?
Let me give you another example. You are very busy with your job, life etc. You feel that you have no extra time to go for a business seminar or read a book about personal growth or give some extra time to your family. All you have is just 24 hours a day. Suddenly you get to know that your wife is pregnant and she needs to go to hospital. Do you manage some time for her? When your baby is born, you need to take care of the child. Do you think you have some extra time? Your parents or in-laws visit your home, do you have time for them? Or your wife is giving birth to your second child; do you have time to organize everything? Yes, you are doing all those things together and performing your job as well.
The point I want to focus that we always have time to do whatever we want to do only if it gets the highest priority or it is enough important to us. Almost all of us fall in this time trap. Opportunity doesn’t come always. When it knocks at the door somebody grab it and somebody feel it as a noise.
Now you probably understood that you can do anything if you want to. Time is not an issue; the issue is- it’s enough important for you or not. Let me give you the best tip how you can prioritize your tasks and have some extra time in your life.
Five minutes management
Take just 5 minutes and write down all of your tasks for the next day in your diary or smartphone before going to bed at night. Just write it down whatever you need to do on the next day. And do the same thing in the morning after wake up. Take five minutes, review the tasks and mark according to the priority. During the whole day just focus on your list and finish it. If you can’t do a task for any reason, add it in the next day’s task.
It’s that simple. Just do it for continuous three weeks without any break, you must get hips of time for yourself and your family. Success is not very hard, it’s really simple. It’s all about persistency & consistency.
