It doesn’t matter where you look in New Zealand, there’s either a house up for sale or a house being sold. Whether house prices are heading up or down, you can always be sure that there will be plenty of activity in New Zealand’s real estate market.
For many people living overseas, the idea of moving to New Zealand is quite an attractive one. The "land of the long white cloud", as it is known, is very popular among those from the UK, Asia and parts of Europe. In a sense, it’s very much regarded by many as an ideal place to live.
Buying a NZ property is appealing for a variety of reasons. New Zealand is considered as a country that offers great quality of life. The country has a reputation for being "clean and green", which is well marketed around the world. This relatively new country is blessed with a diverse range of landscapes, including dense bush, rolling hills, icy mountains, flat paddocks and sandy and rocky beaches.
New Zealand is also regarded as a country that offers more space and a more relaxing lifestyle. It’s considered an ideal place to bring up children. There’s no wonder people are always looking to migrate to New Zealand.
However it’s not just those from overseas that are obsessed with New Zealand. There is a constant flurry of NZ property sales occurring in a number of regions of the country. Because of the diversity in landscapes, there are plenty of employment opportunities in a number of industries. You can go from owning a property in a hectic, closed space part of Auckland to a 5 acre lifestyle block in the country.
High prices obviously vary among towns and cities. The majority of the most expensive houses in New Zealand are located on or close to the water, whether it be in Queenstown, Mount Maunganui, Pauanui, Devonport, Milford or on Oriental Parade, right on the Wellington waterfront.
There are a lot of factors to consider before you decide on buying a NZ property. It can be a life-long move for some, so it pays to take your time. Does the house on the section have renovating possibilities, will the age of the house eventually bring the value of the property down, or is the area in which the house is located likely to grow and therefore increase in value. Either way, you can be 100% sure that you’ll find the type of house you’re looking for, no matter which area of NZ you’re thinking about moving to.
