There are many ways to determine whether it is the best time to get pregnant or not. There are methods and even devices that help you do this. In fact, some of them are quite easy to do.

The first way to determine the best time to get pregnant is by using the calendar method. What you do is to keep track of your monthly female cycle to determine when you are ovulating. Most experts would say that woman is most fertile on the 14th day of the female cycle, which is basically the 14th day after you get your period. Although this has been proven from time to time, there are some women who become fertile as early as the 10th day and as late as the 20th day. That is why relying on this method can sometimes be confusing. However, if you want to stick by this method, it would be best if you track your monthly cycle for a period of 3-4 months to determine whether you get your menstrual cycle regularly.

If you have an irregular menstrual cycle, then there are other methods to determine the best time to get pregnant. One would be to get your basal body temperature. Before ovulation, the woman's body temperature lowers and it goes higher after ovulation. By tracking your temperature monthly, you will know when you are ovulating. However, this can only track up to 3 days of fertility which can cause some couples to miss it altogether.

The other method is to check your cervical mucus. Although this may be a squeamish task for some women, it is often reliable and works the same way as getting your basal body temperature. Normally, when a woman is not fertile, the cervical mucus or CM is dry and sticky. When a woman's body nears ovulation, her vagina becomes more sperm-friendly and produces CM that is wet and egg-white like in consistency. This is the best time to get pregnant and it can last for several days.

However, if tracking your menstrual cycle, basal body temperature or the production of cervical mucus is still not your cup of tea, you can always resort to Ovulation Predictor Kits. These devices will tell you when you are about to ovulate by checking the level of estrogen or Luteinizing Hormone in your body. Although this is the easiest method to determine the best time to get pregnant, it is quite expensive to maintain.

Whatever you choose to do, make sure you enjoy the baby-making process. After all, it is love that makes you want to have a baby in the first place, right?
