You know the old cliché: a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are a couple of dating tips to put your best smile forward and enhance your online dating experience and finding a match.

Proudly showing off your online dating photos with your potential matches can be exciting and hopefully most of rewarding. Since many online dating sites for singles have unique matchmaking features based on compatibility regardless of your photo, however a great photo is one way people can see if there’s also a spark of chemistry with you. Also, they give your potential matches a visual of you when the words in your profile just won’t do the job alone.

Unfortunately, many online daters make a critical mistake by posting old photos themselves that instead of attracting a potential match, it ends up turning them off after your first date! How you might ask? In their excitement of joining an online dating site, they leave common sense out of the equation and use outdated photos that give other singles the wrong perception of you. Here are some critical mistakes that singles make:

  1. You Don’t Smile In Your Photo!

Everyone at one time or the other has heard the old cliché "a picture is worth a thousand words" So when singles see a match's photo, and the match has a straight face something like the mugshot of someone that is booked into jail, a face expression that is way to serious, this type of dating photo sends out signals that you may lack any personality and would be a real bore to date or even get to know. However, your profile photo with a warm smile says to other singles that you are happy and are open to communication and want to meet other singles. Put your best smile on and let other singles know that you are a warm and loving person looking for like minded singles. Show off that smile!

  1. You Don’t Use Photos That Are Recent!

Unfortunately, singles think that if they were a size 4 in 2004 they should post a profile photo from that year as their online dating picture, not realizing that someone thinking they found a potential match and their profile photo does not look anything like them when the meet for that all important first date, now you more than likely you have made your potential match angry and now probably have no chance of a second date. Doing this does nothing at all to help you get second dates and the chance to let the other person get to know the real you. Being honest with your photo and the statements you make in your profile is imperative to successful online dating and finding the right match and a long term relationship. Use your best picture, but most of all, a recent picture! Good Luck and Happy Online Personals Dating!
