Hostels in Australia

A country as big as Australia is difficult to see all in one trip, unless of course you plan to stay here for a very long time. Perhaps you will want to make a few return visits after getting a taste for it! As with any destination, traveling to Australia can be expensive and if you're on a tight budget the best way to save money is to stay at Australian hostels.

Most Australians are naturally adventurous and ok with roughing it a little. So because of this there is an endless choice of excellent hostels throughout the country. Why not skip the fancy Australian hotels when you come down under? Opt for a hostel instead and spend those dollars on the things that you will really remember and FYI don't think that hostels cant be fancy too. See Wake Up Hostel Sydney. Voted best independent backpackers on the planet.

Who Ever Said Hostels Were Just for Young People?

Hostels do not discriminate on the basis of age. There is a common misconception that "hostel" means youth hostel and the only people allowed to check in are young students. Maybe this was the case in times past but today it really isn't true. Hostels are for budget travelers of any who don't mind sharing a few amenities and or rooms with other travelers.

The Benefits of Australia Hostels

Did we mention how much cheaper they are? So yes you are going to save lots of money when you sleep in hostels - but that's not the only reason people do it. There's no better way to meet other travelers and like-minded people. You'll share stories, travel tips, a meal and maybe even a beer or two and who knows you may even make a few life long friends. When it's time to hit the hay, staying in the typical dormitory style rooms can be less than ideal for some people so hostels these days will often have some private rooms available. They may charge a little more for these but it's still cheaper than a hotel.

Choosing the Right Hostel

If a hostel you are interested in is not in the centre of the town or city, do a quick google search to make sure that transport is quick and readily available to everything you want to see or do. And don't be afraid to stay a little off the beaten track occasionally. Some of the most unique experiences are had this way. Check out nimbin YHA. Nimbin is in North Coast New South Wales
