Have you ever tried preparing quinoa grain before? Although this ancient seed has been well-liked as a staple in South America for more than 5,000 years, it has only been in the last several years that it has become readily available in America. This relative of chard and spinach is referred to as a grain however really it is not. Rather, it is a seed. People tend to refer to it as a grain because that is how it is treated when it is cooked. Additionally, it is full of minerals, vitamins and fiber. More than one health guru has stated that quinoa grain just may be the perfect food. Even NASA has taken the time to research quinoa grain to examine its potential as a crop to be grown in long term space missions.
An excellent thing about quinoa grain is that it is amongst the most versatile foods you can find. This means that you can enjoy it any time of day. What other food can you stay works just as well as your morning cereal as it does in your favorite stir fry recipes? Other popular ways to enjoy quinoa grain are in salads, soups and casseroles.
