Multilevel marketing companies sell their products or services by people who are known as Distributors. These distributors are recruited into the business by people who are already working with the company and they are called Sponsors because they are sponsoring people to work under them in their downline. Typically, an mlm team will be built this way. The team will be led by the person who did the sponsoring and, hopefully, the team will follow the leader and have great success selling the product or service as well as building their own downlines.
Some Sponsors believe that their mlm teams need encouragement to keep their network marketing businesses afloat. Sometimes people use quotes to keep their downline interested in their businesses. Here is an example: "Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears."-John Lennon. Quoting people can help you get a point across, but what is this Sponsor's point?
How quoting a famous person helps you to make a point to your mlm team will not be immediately clear, but something else will be. They will know that you can't be bothered to take time to speak your own thoughts for inspiration. It would take more than a few sentences to have a meaningful interaction between Sponsor and Distributor and a quote from an outside person does not bring us to this point. What ends up happening is that the Sponsor adds quote after quote, never stopping at just one.
This particular Sponsor often gives us another quote from Henry Ford. Ready? Here it is: "Nothing teaches character better than generosity." Okay. What does he want his mlm team to do with these words of wisdom? If this Sponsor were to use his own words he would get farther in bringing his people to a better place in their businesses, easier than with this quote; it doesn't apply to anything specific in network marketing. If this Sponsor were to expand on the quotes with his own stories it would make the quotes more applicable to everyone's business.
Telling your own stories is going to be the best policy when you want to inspire your mlm team. If all you can do is recite the words of other people your downline will think that you are not capable of telling them anything new or do not care enough to invent something new. If either one of the above is true it is not likely that you will be successful creating an mlm team to sell the product or service. It will take effort to encourage a group of people to do well in the network marketing business. If you cannot help anyone who may be having difficulties getting themselves going, which will be most of the people you recruit, they will just quit your business. Using your own words will make you stand out as an individual because they will never have been said by anyone else.
In order to do the best job marketing on social networking sites it is important to have a plan before you get started. Read A. D. Kellon’s blog to learn more about network marketing on sites like Twitter and Facebook.
