Remember, the dress may be beautiful on the hanger or the model. What you desire is for it to look stunning on you, so you must decide the best prom dress for your body type. Here's how:

First find out your body measurements; do this without any clothes on the best accuracy. Use a fabric measuring tape, carefully measure your bustline, your waistline, and your hips at their widest point. Write these three numbers on a piece of paper.

Next determine your body type. If your bust, and hips are close in size and your waistline has got very little indentation when you look at yourself in the mirror, you have what is known as an H body type, straight up and down. Scroll down to see how you are able to add curviness to your body type.

If your waist is of the largest measurement, of the 3, you have a round body type. Scroll down to find how to understate the roundness your body type.

An A body type has a small bustline, average waistline and larger hips. You can see tips on how to balance the bustline and hip measurements.

An hourglass body type will have large bustline, voluptuous hips, and a narrow waist. See how to make your figure appear elegant and classy!

H Body Type

Your job in finding the perfect prom dresses, is to emphasize the bust line or shoulder area as well as finding a dress with draping around the hipline

Princess seams, slip dresses, A-lines, and empire waistlines, bell, long-fitted or ruffled sleeves will help you achieve this. Avoid strapless.

Round Body Type

Look for dresses that de-emphasize the midriff, such as drop waist or no waistline dresses. Accentuate your beautiful legs and slender arms with shoes, hose or a long strand of pearls.

A Body Type

Your challenge is to accentuate the upper body as well as the waistline to counterpoise the disproportion. Do this by wearing large dangly earrings or a dress with attention-getting upper body details! Be sure your bodice details are well-lined enough to accentuate the upper body

Hourglass Body Type

Your body type is the most feminine; so you would like to dress in a more modest fashion to avoid the inclination of looking sleazy or trashy. Dressing your figure in a classic expressive style, can look absolutely incredible because you are already balanced in a super feminine way!
