First Trimester
These are the first 12 weeks of the pregnancy. During this time, the mother's body goes through many changes since a baby is growing in her. Most women complain of nausea, backaches and morning sickness. At this point, the mother is supposed to book her first prenatal appointment where she gets a comprehensive medical checkup. Second Trimester

The baby's lungs and respiratory systems develop at this stage. Between weeks, 37 and 42 the baby if fully mature and ready for birth. When the time is almost up the mother will experience Braxton Hicks contractions that eventually lead to strong labor pains and finally lead to the delivery of the baby. On delivery, the baby weighs around 7.5 pounds and is about 18 to 21 inches.
