In the early days of marketing be it online or offline, most businesses focus on one specific product for customers. Once they made money, they will simply concentrate on providing customer service and giving customers another product. Although those methods are still employed now, it will be a matter of time before they become obsolete especially if you are running an online businesses.

If you have been to any seminars or watch online offers by gurus, you will notice the same trend among them.

They offer free gifts first. Then they offer the actual product with additional bonuses. After people purchased, they will upsell them with more products by directing them to one time offers online while at the same time, emailing them with the link to download what they just bought.

But even so, their relationship with customers does not end there. They will give them even more free gifts and offers so long their customers remain their customers and on their emailing list.

In this article, I will be explaining more about free gifts, bonuses and one time offers and why they are so crucial to your online businesses.

Let us start off with free gifts. Free gifts are usually presented in landing or squeeze pages. In case you do not know what a landing or squeeze page is, it is a single web page with one or two gifts. It does not have any menu navigation bars but comes with an optin box whereby people need to submit their names and emails to get those gifts. From the marketer’s standpoint of view, giving free gifts is a great way of generating email leads in return.

Bonuses are different from free gifts. They are offered usually together with the main product. Though they are also audio, ebooks, software and tutorial videos like free gifts, they are a complete set and with higher quality to complement the main product in terms of benefits relevance. They can also be higher end products of other gurus whom the product owner has joint ventured with. Coaching programs are one great examples. By offering such bonuses, you are adding more value to your main product.

One time offers are offers made to customers immediately after they purchased the main product. The web page is what the product owner will direct them to immediately rather than the actual download page.

All these are crucial components of earning more money online.

I give a free gift to let them see the value of what I offer and can offer in my actual product. This is usually in the form of an ebook or video preview showcasing the first three chapters or videos. If they like what they see and finds them helpful, they will most likely buy my actual product. One good example is Mike Fulsaime and Chris Farrell in their 4 prelaunch videos through a blog. When their AffiliateDotCom product is finally launched, it gets sold out in a matter of days.

Then I offer bonuses which I analysed and selected carefully through PLR or Private Label Rights in addition to my main product.

Finally I give them One Time Offers twice. First time by offering them the actual price and second time by downselling via giving them a special customer discount.

Most gurus are going to the extent of overdelivering by offering monthly forum memberships and weekly webinars to their customers. I have not done this yet but may consider doing so once I am familiar as to how to do them properly.
