As an Auburn football fan, it is only natural to believe that Auburn tradition rests dear in the hearts of the Auburn family. Some of the traditions that have created the Auburn Spirit we know today include A-Day, the 'War

Eagle' Battle Cry, Auburn Mascot Aubie, the famous Tiger walk before the beginning of a game, the rolling of Toomer's Corner after a major win, and the

fabulous football pep rallies .

A great way that Auburn has boosted the enthusiasm and excitement for the football games is through pep rallies where thousands of students, faculty, and

fans swarm the streets at Toomer's Corner . For a while, this tradition was given a miss by the city. However, the

Student Government Association worked very hard with the City of Auburn to bring back this great tradition.

The Tiger Walk is one very revered tradition. The fan form a line down Donahue Drive with space in

between for the players and coaches to walk through. It starts from the athletic complex and ends at the stadium two hours before the game begins.

This ritual began

way back in the sixties when fans and students would gather around the football players as they walked from Sewell Hall down to the football stadium. As the years have gone by this ritual has become an integral part of game day activities, even making it's

way into the official game day itinerary.

One of the most asked about questions about Auburn football is "Do we have two mascots?" The answer is no. Our mascot is Aubie, a charismatic and mischievous tiger The eagle is a tradition to Auburn football. Ware Eagle

is Auburn's battle cry. It all began back in 1892 when Auburn was badly losing in a game against Georgia. A fan in the stands had an

eagle who broke free and started circling the stadium and before we knew it everyone in the stands started to yell War Eagle| An Auburn fan had brought his

eagle to the stadium, which broke free and began to make rounds above the stadium, which prompted Auburn fans to yell- WARR Eagle}. The loud cheering gave the Auburn football players the encouragement they needed and they ended up

winning the game against georgia. Now before every game, our eagle flies around the stadium while all the fans yell War Eagle.

After a win, all the fans head down to Toomer's Corner which is at the intersection of Magnolia and College Street and roll with toilet paper all the trees! What a

stunning sight to see! The whole area looks like a blizzard just passed through.

Lastly, there is A-Day. the founder's day

celebration which is where the football team plays a scrimmage and all Auburn enthusiasts can come to watch. This scrimmage gives the fans a chance to see

the team play and preview how well they are playing .

Auburn University has become what it is today due to the many

Auburn Customs which bind it together, creating an Auburn family which is unbreakable.
