The common types of cement mixer can be placed in 3 major categories. The first type is a vertical mixer that is also known by the name of Pan & Planetary mixer. The second type is called a twin shaft mixer. The third one is known as a drum mixer that is also known by the names of Tilting Drum or Reversing Drum. Twin shaft mixers are used for high quality cement mixing. They consume very less amount of time. The concrete produced is also high in strength and durability. The usual batch size is 2-6 cubic meters for this type.
The vertical concrete mixer is another type that is utilized for the manufacture of pre-stressed concrete. This mixer also clearly cleans in between the batches. This is a preferred mixer type when the workers require colored concrete, multiple discharge points and small amounts of concrete (normally 0.75-3 cubic meters). The drum mixer is used for large volumes of concrete production (with average batch size of 3-9 cubic meters).
The varieties of cement mixer have their unique application and usability in the ever-growing concrete industry. The concrete is nowadays produced with improved standards of quality and in less time with these advanced mixing techniques.
