There are several ways to increase the profit on your website, but there is one universal way that works, targeted keyword marketing driven by a good SEO plan. You probably know by now that you can’t achieve anything in life without planning, well that is 100% true for online business. Without SEO plan and a business goal you can have the most targeted keyword marketing and you will not get the results you were hoping for.

This is a three step process, the main part is keyword marketing, but this is the easiest part. The first part is creating your SEO plan and your business plan, your business goal. Of course all of this comes after you have optimized your website, after that on page optimization is complete. The first thing you need to do is create your goal, some goals may include the visitor to:

  • Purchase a product on your website

  • Fill out a form

  • Subscribe to your newsletter

  • Register for a paid membership

  • Opt for your mailing list

Once you know your goal you create an appropriate landing page that will be targeted by your keyword marketing and keyword advertising if you have the funds. The landing page needs to have the basic necessities:

  • Short list of benefits that your product/newsletter/paid membership brings

  • Call to action/sales pitch

  • Subscription form/payment form

You can create a more advanced landing page, but we have all seen the tower landing pages and none of us reads them, we all know those testimonials are fake. So, from my experience short does it, short and attractive landing pages get more conversions. They convey the message directly and thus increase the conversion rates, if you stall your sales pitch you are loosing the chance of making a sale, direct always has better chances of converting a visitor into a customer.

So, you have your goal and your landing page set, the last part is targeted keyword marketing. Keyword marketing is a simple but lengthy process. You can use article marketing, blog commenting, forum posting even product reviews or eHow’s or any other way to get your anchor text keyword point back to your landing page. The idea is very simple, choose a very targeted long tail keyword and a few LSI keyword that you will constantly use and start building links towards your landing page. If you have your website built and landing page created and focus only creating backlinks, you can create thousands of backlinks a month and drive targeted traffic towards your landing page for free. You can create more if you have some funds, but then gain you can go for keyword advertising and start a targeted PPC campaign.

Remember that this is a very simple process that relies heavily on your keyword marketing. If you start building links and stop half way there as soon as you see some sales you will not succeed. What you need to do when you see your sales increasing is to push your keyword marketing up a notch and cover more backlinks a month. In online business you either grow or you die, a sad fact, but a fact nevertheless.
