Which would you prefer for your MLM / Network Marketing Business? Going out day and night, hanging around food stores trying to talk to people, driving your friends and family to change their names and calling strangers out of the phone book. Only be to shut down, beat up, and told to get lost.
Or, would you prefer to have hot leads contacting you? Practically paying you to show them your networking opportunity.
For most people, the second option sounds a lot better, right. And it is the way that it should be.
After all, remember the day you signed up for your network marketing opportunity. Didn't it sound like the answers to your prayers? Chances are, nothing has ever sounded better to your ears.
What is the difference between you, and all the people you meet at your local foodie? You were in the right frame of mind. Whether you knew it or not, you were looking for a new opportunity. Or, you had a problem and your companies products are the solution.
It was one of those 2 things. Otherwise, you would have told your sponsor to get lost. And, as you go forward, every time you show your plan to a person who is looking for your opportunity or product, they are going to buy from or sign up under you. Period. They have a problem, you have a solution. You have a deal.
The problem that most network markers and MLM business owners make is, they are putting their product or opportunity in front of people who do not want or need it. Or at least they don't think they do.
And that is where traditional strategies for network marketing falls flat. You are told that "everyone" is a prospect. And that you should show "everyone" what you are offering. Or your plan.
The reasons behind this approach make sense. If you show your plan to everyone, eventually you are going to show it to the person who wants and needs what you have to offer. And, you will have your customer or recruit.
But, what an exhausting way to do it, if that is your only approach. And, worse, it is exhausting for your group as well. Maybe you have the tenacity to blow through 100 no's to get one sale, and another 100 to find someone who wants to build the business. But, each of your business builders also needs to have that tenacity, and so on through your group. That equates to showing your opportunity to thousands of people who have absolutely no interest in what you are doing.
Attraction marketing takes the opposite approach. In theory, it is an approach where interested parties come to you. And where you can pick and choose who you actually work with. Your leads are "attracted" to you.
The theory itself sounds great, but you might be having a tough time believing it. Anyone who has been around MLM or Network marketing knows that rejection is just part of the game. In fact, you may have even gotten to the point where you expect the prospect to say no. This is a deal killing posture, by the way.
Attraction marketing is not exclusive to MLM or Network marketing. And it has been around for a very long time in one form or another. However, the one thing that has made it much easier, especially for MLM, is the Internet.
Internet Marketing has taken attraction marketing to the next level for Network Marketers because of 2 reasons.
The first is the ability to search. This is an element of attraction marketing and internet marketing that is not MLM specific. In the past, most marketing was one way. You blasted your message out to everyone hoping to find the few that are interested. This could have been through TV, Cold Calling, or prospecting in the grocery store.
With the internet, people actually go out looking for what they need. And as a marketer, it is just your job to be where people are looking, and they will find you.
The next factor of internet marketing that more is specific for network marketing attraction is anonymity. Not for you, but for your recruits. At first this might sound strange, especially in network marketing. But imagine this scenario.
You are a struggling network marketer (or ex-network marketer). You are frustrated that you up-line isn’t coaching you properly, or they aren't growing, or whatever. Maybe you are fed up with your companies products.
Or maybe, you are sick of your job and are looking for a way to work for yourself. You have heard of MLM and know the power of it.
You are not going to go out and walk up to every person you see and tell them how frustrated you are. And then tell them you are looking for a network marketing opportunity. Think about the fear that you feel every time you approach someone about your opportunity. That is double for that frustrated person out there.
The anonymity of the internet gives them the opportunity to go searching for more information. They are looking for someone who has the perfect opportunity, the perfect product or the perfect leader. And that person should be you.
Using the internet to change your business from a "chase them" model, to a "they chase you" model can turn your entire business around. It is a totally new way to think about your business.
Fortunately, there is a lot of information to get you started. There are tons of books, articles and programs on internet marketing information out there. You just have to figure out how to customize it for your ideal prospect.
Figure out who that ideal prospect is, and position yourself and your marketing efforts in a way that is attractive to them. And, eventually they will start to find you.
Network Marketing and MLM are more competitive than they have ever been in history. But on the other side, internet marketing has opened you up to a new market of millions of people who you never would have had access to before. Start attracting them to you today.
